About Susan

My name is Susan Nelson and I have been in the Real Estate industry for over 30 years.  I really grew up with real estate since my mother was one of the first women in real estate and started her career in 1975.  If you ever wanted to see her, you had to visit her at her office!  I decided never to get into the business and scooted off to college to get a theater degree.  My plan was to become a famous actress....so that led to marriage, 2 children, and a bartending job!  The famous actress part was off the table.

I got my license to sell real estate when my children were 2yrs and 5 yrs old.  My marriage started to fall apart and I found myself being financially responsible for my family of three!  

That was great motivation to work hard, which I did.  I also loved people and found that I had a  knack for being likeable.  My experience with real estate came with time and education.  I learned something new every day and 30...some years later, (and probably earlier) I became an expert in the business.

My children are now grown and I am blessed to be a grandmother, mother, realtor!  That's my title.  

I live in Upper Dublin in a farmhouse that I love and work in Blue Bell.  I love what I do and hope to be able to help people buy and sell homes for many years to come.

Susan Nelson has been a top-producing real estate agent in the suburbs of Philadelphia for nearly 30 years and a featured Philadelphia Magazine 5-Star Realtor (2009-2019). Her dedication to clients and passion for the industry have helped her earn many honors and awards, including the Presidents Circle Award (2020);  5-year Legend Award (2018-19); Chairman’s Circle Award (2010-19); and the Top of the Rock Award (2005-7).

She’s a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and a graduate of Temple University (BFA, Theater, ’83), and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. She followed her mother, Helen Gordon, into the real estate business and together, the mother/daughter duo built and lead a team of agents as the Gordon/Nelson Group. Susan raised her two adult children in Ambler, where she also volunteered on the Ambler Main Street Committee. She is fully devoted to the well-being of her clients and takes seriously her role as a trusted mentor and advisor through the home buying and selling process. She owes much of her success to repeat and referred clients, a testament to her service. She lives in Dresher and is an avid traveler, reader, and still a secret wanna-be actress.
